Parents are the experts on their child, their values, their family and their culture. At Montecito School, we value the parent-teacher partnership. Together we form a supportive team that smoothly transitions the child between home and school. We invite all parents to contribute to the classroom by sharing their culture, interests and talents. We also invite parents to contribute to the school as a volunteer in the classroom or by helping with special events.

At Montecito School we take pride in designing experiences for families to play an active role in their child’s learning. As part of our classroom programs, we invite families to enjoy our Halloween Sing (October) and Holiday Sings (December) and an End of the Year Campus Picnic (June). These family days are celebrations for each class to share with their parents their favorite songs that they have learned and sung throughout the year. Teachers will involve children in the process of preparation and planning the event. Depending on the age group, some classrooms dance, play musical instruments or share their puppet skills. At the end of day there is a party in each class where parents, children and staff come together for a shared meal. Parent Visiting Days and classroom parties are another way we share our classroom experiences with our families at Montecito.
